Faith Over Fear

Faith Over Fear

It was in January when Matt, my husband, came to me and said “ I feel like God is calling our family to serve together in Camp Ministry.”  The one thing about Matt and I is that if we hear something from the Lord we support each other in that, we pray about it, we seek with open ears, we desire to walk with each other in the callings God has placed on our lives. So in that moment I say, “ok lets pursue this and see where it leads.”

We begin to call people we know who are apart of Christian Camping. We ask lots of questions, we pray.  God begins to weave the right people at the right timing in our direction. At this point we get super excited. We can feels Gods presence in every phone call, every interview.  In April, Matt gets a call with a job offer. They want us to come at the end of the month..

Wow God, that was fast. We have so many things we need to think about. I love my nice big house, i never thought i would own a house this big. We will be making 3 times less than what we are making now. How are we going afford to do this. We love Nashville, we love our Church, we love our friends. We will be moving further away from our families. Are you sure Lord? I begin to become fearful. I begin to listen to lies from the enemy. I begin to worry.

BUT GOD. I am so glad that in moments of fear, God can give you a peace. Its unexplainable! I knew that God was calling our family to this. Things were working out to perfectly, God was giving us the desires of our heart. We had been praying for a long time that God would allow our family to do ministry of some sort together and here was our answer.

We have now been in camp ministry for 4 years. It has been the best decision ever. Our family loves serving together, we love camp life. We love being able to invest in the summer staffers as well as be apart of all the amazing things God is doing with the people that come onto property.

Adventures with Piggy, A week at camp is about overcoming fear. We all experience fear and worry in different ways. God loves us, He cares about our worries and fears. He wants to give us peace to overcome those obstacles. He wants us to come to Him, trust Him. Faith is putting your complete trust in someone. Psalms 56:3 says When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. Today if you are afraid to walk in the purpose or calling God has for you, trust in Him. If your dream seems to big, trust in Him. If you feel alone or out of your comfort zone, trust in Him. Im so glad we didn’t let fear overcome our desire to serve together. Im so glad that i didn’t let fear stop me from writing Adventures with Piggy. Today It will be His Will, His Way, My Faith.
